Skull & Flames Workshop with Mariano Soto Lahr Custom painting techniques and metal look design In his workshop, Chilean artist Mariano Soto Lahr demonstrates classic custom painting techniques on metal with a focus on flames and skulls. Water-based candy colours are used for realistic flame effects. For a unique metal look, Mariano teaches his withdraw technique, in which he uses alcohol to remove layers of colour that have already been painted - as a painting technique, not by erasing. This creates unique skull textures and mysterious ethnic designs. Mariano draws on his decades of experience as a professional custom painter and illustrator as well as numerous workshop experiences as an airbrush instructor throughout South America. He has been living, working and teaching in Norway for 3 years. His courses are held in English and, if required, in Spanish.
