Fantasy Mix Technique with Mariano Soto Lahr, May 22–23, 2027 Early-bird price through December 31, 2026: 250 euros Regular price starting January 1, 2027: 279 eurosIn his workshop, Chilean artist Mariano Soto Lahr showcases his impressive, nature-inspired fantasy motifs, which he creates using a mixed airbrush technique. In Norway, his adopted home, he draws extensive inspiration from Nordic sagas and nature myths, which he brings to life through fantastical, realistic figures. Expressive, good-natured faces, mystical lighting, and enchanted natural settings characterize his works. To achieve unique textural effects, Mariano also demonstrates his “withdraw” technique, in which he uses alcohol to remove previously applied layers of paint—as a painting technique, not through erasure.  Mariano draws on his decades of experience as an illustrator as well as his extensive workshop experience as an airbrush instructor throughout South America. He has been living, working, and teaching in Norway for the past five years.
