Iwata-Medea: Exhibition of one of the world's largest collections of airbrush works in Portland, Oregon

On May 31 and June 1, Iwata-Medea, Inc., the Global Headquarters of Iwata airbrush equipment and accessories, will open the doors to one of the most extensive and significant collections of original airbrush artwork and objects in the world: the Iwata Gallery.

The company's own collection, which has rarely been seen in public, was expanded in January 2025 with the acquisition of the Ultimate Air Affair Gallery. It contains 360 unique and valuable images that were previously curated by Aset USA, LLC, a previously North American distribution partner for Anest Iwata spray painting equipment based in West Valley City, Utah.

Most of the works to be showcased were created as part of the Ultimate Air Affair events, a series of workshops and events organized by the company, in which some of the most famous artists in the North America, such as Craig Fraser, Gerald Mendez, Mike Lavallee, Steve Driscoll, Dennis Matthewson, Ryan “Ryno” Templeton, Ron Gibbs, Bob Soroka, and many others, participated and realized joint airbrush projects.

According to the company's management, the exhibition at the Iwata Gallery is not only a celebration of the airbrush as a medium, but also a tribute to the artists, collectors, and visionaries who have contributed to the growth and legacy of airbrushed art.

To mark this special occasion, the Airbrush Step by Step team will travel to Portland to attend the gallery opening. Photos and insights into the exhibition will be featured in the next issue.
