In his two-day workshop, Chilean artist Mariano Soto Lahr will demonstrate classic custom painting techniques on metal, with a focus on flames and skulls. He will use water-based candy colors for realistic flame effects. For a unique metal look, Mariano teaches his Withdraw technique, in which he uses alcohol to remove layers of paint that have already been applied – as a painting technique, not as an erasing method. This results in unique skull textures and mysterious ethnic designs.
